Daily exercise: How not to miss your workout

Exercising daily while living a busy life or a lazy life is next to impossible. Life happens, and the best laid out plans to hit the gym daily can go a for a toss and requires insane amount of discipline to not miss a day of exercising and working out. Here is a tested but ridiculously fail-safe method of not missing a single day of exercising. In the last 757 days since I figured it out only 8 days missed out with no exercise using this hilariously simple method without requiring any self-discipline.

How to make it happen in a few simple steps
  1. Promise yourself that you will not bathe unless you have to exercised
    • for someone who has to work, not bathing is not an option
    • do a set of push-ups, lunges, jumping jacks and squats in the bathroom before starting your shower
    • you have already hit your target of not missing exercise even as your day has started
    • you can accomplish a set of multiple body weight exercises in 10 minutes
  2. Promise yourself that you will not eat dinner before you exercise
    • before having dinner fall on the floor do a set of push-ups even though are tired
    • you have now exercised not once but twice during the day (no mean feat to achieve consistently - you are already a winner
  3. If you happen to visit the gym for the day, then ignore step 2
  4. Cross out the days you have exercised on a paper or digital calendar
  5. Gamers you can relate with this - maintain your streak of not missing a day of exercise
  6. If you miss a day of exercise for any reason
    • awaken the gamer in you and ensure you don't have a two-day streak of missing your workout.
It is said that 10,000 repetitions lead to mastery. I am tracking my progress towards 10,000 days of exercise with not more than 50 days missed.
